Hey guys, today i'll be blogging about the good food and fun (cheap fun!) in Chinatown, Singapore!

I am actually a big big fan of Chinatown and loves to frequent the area!! My love for it actually started 3 years back when I was working in the area and always dropped by after work! To me, Chinatown has a lot to offer - food, beautiful architecture, fun and affordable stuff!

I can go on and on about what there is to be found in Chinatown but that will make this post too long and windy, defeating the purpose of it!

So, Let's start!

#1 Super Affordable Shampoos, Shower gel etc sold @ Swanston Store!

I LOVEEEEEE VISITING THE SWANSTON STORE every 2-3 months, so much so that it has become a ritual or routine (?) to me! The shower gel, sanitary pads (lol), shampoo, toothpaste etc and more are sooooo much cheaper than the market rates at Watson and NTUC! Though the crowd is always there regardless of weekdays or weekends, it doesn't deter people like me from paying a visit! I can save lots and lots of money through shopping there! It is a secret place that I think many youngsters are not aware of!

Swanston is located at the second floor of the people park food complex (next to OG building).

It is really THE BEST PLACE TO BUY ALL THE SHOWER GEL, SHAMPOO ETC THERE!

#2 Mei hong yuen dessert store

Where can u find yummy Chinese dessert in Singapore? The answer is Mei Hong Yuen Dessert store!

Tucked away in one of the busy street in Chinatown (can't pinpoint exact location), this dessert store has not just the normal green bean soup, but it also offers delicious shaved ice dessert! For instance, mango shave ice, almond and black sesame shaved ice!

Super delicious and affordable. Shaved ice is around $5.50 for 1.

Remember to grab a table before ordering at the counter as there is always a crowd at the shop!

#3 The 10 dollar Karaoke Club

A gem tucked away at the Chinatown food street area, the 10 dollar KTV club is a great place to spend the afternoon with your friends!

Pay $11 ($1 for some extra charge, think its for the song), and u get to sing form 2 - 7 pm!!

5 hours might be too long to some, but to me, it is perfectly fine since I get to rest in between songs!

The seats are also pretty comfy and sound system is not too bad!

Only downside is that the mic are not wireless!! ZZ

#4 Togi Korean Restaurant

Must we eat chinese food in Chinatown? The answer is : Not always~

There are lots of hawker centre in Chinatown area, from the chinatown hawker centre to Maxwell food centre.

But if u are craving for authentic Korean food, Togi Korean restaurant is the place to go!

They serve free flow barley tea (Which I do not like) and as usual, the side dishes that every korean restaurant has!

We ordered pork ribs stew with ramyeom added, kimchi pancake and stir spicy chicken.

This stir spicy chicken is DAEBAKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Must order this when u visit it!

Personally, I don't like to eat ribs because I keep finding bones with minimal meat on it. The waitress was quite nice and helped us to cut the meat off the bones, hence I couldn't find the meat. My friends could have gotten the meat. LOL.

Kimchi pancake was yummyy!! Not spicy at all, well balanced taste!

The key to eating here is to eat in a group. That way, u can order more dishes to try while still remaining budget conscious. On average, we spent around $20 approx for this meal.

#5 Bibim Korean Bingsu

To complete the korean vibes night, u can head off to Bibim, a popular korean bingsu shop tucked in the streets near to CK departmental store. The store has a nice ambiance to it,decorated with fake flowers (lol). Their menu is also quite extensive (in my opinion) compared to other bingsu stores found in Singapore. My friends and I were spoilt for choice, so we decided on the newly item added on the menu - Choc & cheese bingsu!

Honestly, it taste HEAVENLY!!!!!

The ice cream almost fell off when we began to eat it. LOL, always practice caution when eating bingsu with ice cream on top. I would give this bingsu 9/10!!! Minus 1 because the bowl is too small and the choc powder and shaved ice occasionally drop off the edge when eating - booo!!

Of course, there are many more things to do and many more places to visit in Chinatown!

Till then~~~
